UPDATES ON MONDAYS, WEDNESDAYS, AND FRIDAYS

Comments: 12/1/08 - "Why They Get Mad?" I never thought I would have to write something about menstrual cycles, but oh well. I remember back in freshman year, a girl in my class had to ran off to the bathroom quite often and was quite sick. So I asked the other girls what's wrong with her. They tried to hint to me that she was having her period, but I was absolutely clueless and asked "what's that?". None of them exlpained. I felt kind of stupid for that. Anyway, "she's mad because she has her period" is pretty much the same thing as "he's a jerk because he has a penis." Sure hormonal factors play a large role in the emotional fluctuation of females during that time of the month. However, there are other determinants for the sometimes erratic behavior, which I am going to talk about. For one thing, it's just feels awkward to have discharge coming out of your body. Though, everyone goes through this (yes, even male, but with other discharges). Discharging from the body often makes us feel vulnerable - with the exception of sweat for the most time of course. This is because it automatically sends a signal to our mind that we are weak unless we replenish ourselves with nutrients or replacements. Then there's the cleaning up you have to do that's all messy. Luckily I'm not a girl because I'm hemophobic, but maybe if I were, then I wouldn't have the fear of blood. The important is - don't feel ashame - feel sorry for those who don't go through this regularly. It's quite common that the hormonal fluctuations at the time causes breakouts. That's another concern for young females. "God, I have to deal with the mess in my pants and on my face." It accounts for why they may become a bit more withdrawn. Finally, the assumption that a girl is on her period that guys give do enrage some girls further. Just because that's sexist and it promotes more vulnerability from knowing of the discharge problem from earlier. Girls, if they do that, just say "You're an asshole because of your testosterone." Guys just give some time and space to those experiencing this, and girls, just act natural, because it's natural. - Mike ^_^
