Comments: 12/1/08 - "Stereotypical Sidekicks " I'm just wonder why in movies, especially those detective or cop ones, that there's always a comic relief secondary protagonist of a different (usually minority) group from the rest of the cast? There are some exceptions, but sometimes the comic relief character can be overly stupid and annoying. They are good to relief tension, but I would like to see comic relief cleverly implanted in storylines more admist of the drama going on rather than through characters. Oh yeah, I'm not only talking about racial differences, but others things as well (body size and social status). But as long as people who are of that group finds it acceptable to some degree, then I guess it's okay. However, don't take this out of context aside from the movies. - Mike ^_^
