UPDATES ON MONDAYS, WEDNESDAYS, AND FRIDAYS

Comments: 12/10/08 - "Add Me Anybody? " I remember the advent of social networking started with Asian Avenue on the island back when I was about fifth grade or so. Blogging were making a scene around that time, too. Asian Avenuewas an immediate hit not only amongst the Asian population, but for other ethnic groups, too. Finally, there was a virtual method to communicate withyour friends and "snoop" around them. Then it came Xanga when took a step further with more features such as more photo and bulletin posting. Though, I was still clueless and social networking was pretty much an exclusive "girl" thing. Then months later, MySpace came, and as the new "virtual drug" after people looked around and got used to it. The marked the age of "html literacy" for tweakers who wanted to personalize their page. However, for those still with its dylexia, there were code generators to help out. It wasn't till the 7th grade that I joined in on this social networking craze. At first, I thought "what so great about it?" as I added a couple of close friends. Soon after, I found myself browsing through pages of countless potential acquitances and adding them. In my four years of being initated into the social networking cult, I have to say it has certainly made the world seem a bit smaller - or bigger depending on how you look at it. (My sister doesn't even want to go on her Myspace now that she found out her stalkers each own one.) In addition, companies are using it as a tool to reach out and advertise their products. As far as I can see in the future, social networking in here to stay. Myspace and Facebook may be giants of it now but who knows - some other young tech geek may come along and make a couple of billions off of his or her future network - it could be even you! Just remember, there's something for everybody - heck, especially when there's even a network one for pregnant women! That's awesome!!! Oh yeah, if you haven't yet, feel free to add me at: www.myspace.com/oddtaste - Mike ^_^
